Where Award Travel Finder actually fits
TL;DR: the tools below are search engines — they collect availability data and show it to you in a search UI. Award Travel Finder is the open, agent-native brain that sits on top: bring your existing search tool subscription (or none), then talk to your points from Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client, and get proprietary tools none of the search-only tools build — status match, buy-points verdicts, transfer-path routing, hotel folio audits.
Pick a search tool if...
- You need the broadest possible cached or live availability across many programs.
- You don't use Claude, ChatGPT, or MCP-based AI workflows.
- Search breadth matters more to you than an AI agent interface.
Add Award Travel Finder if...
- You want to talk to your points from Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client.
- You want status match, buy-points, transfer-path, or folio-audit verdicts.
- You want an honest, live coverage number — 24 airlines returned real award seats in the last 72h, see /coverage — instead of a fixed marketing claim.
$9.99/mo ($79.99/yr), free tier with 3 economy searches/day. Most award travelers end up running both: a dedicated search tool for raw availability, and Award Travel Finder as the AI brain on top.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best award flight search tool?
The best tool depends on your needs. Award Travel Finder is ideal for finding premium cabin award seats with real-time availability and AI-driven workflows. Other tools offer broad coverage, transfer partner optimisation, or free mileage pricing comparisons. AwardHacker is a popular free option for comparing mileage pricing across programs.
Can I book flights with points for free?
Yes. Several tools offer free tiers for searching award availability. Award Travel Finder offers free real-time searches with the full 365-day window, and AwardHacker is completely free for mileage pricing. Once you find availability, you book directly through the airline’s frequent-flyer program using your points or miles.
What is the difference between award pricing and award availability?
Award pricing (what AwardHacker shows) tells you how many miles a program charges for a route. Award availability (what Award Travel Finder shows) tells you whether seats are actually bookable on specific dates. You need both: pricing to choose the best program, and availability to confirm seats exist.
How do I find award flights using points?
Start by checking which airline loyalty programs your credit card points transfer to. Then use an award flight search tool like Award Travel Finder to search for available seats on your desired route and dates. When you find availability, transfer your points to the airline program and book directly with them.
Are award flight search tools worth paying for?
Premium features like full-year availability searches, alerts, AI agents, and folio audits can save significant time and money. A single premium cabin award redemption can be worth thousands of dollars, so a $50–100/year tool that helps you find and book those seats often pays for itself many times over.
