Audit my points portfolio

/audit-my-portfolio

Values every balance, flags idle and expiring points, and gives the best use for each currency.

“Audit my points and tell me what to use first.”

Book an award step by step

/book-award-step-by-step

A safe booking checklist - confirm live space, hold if possible, transfer, then ticket. Never transfer before you see the seat.

“Walk me through booking Qatar Qsuites with Avios.”

Cancel or change an award

/cancel-or-change-award

Works out the cancel or change fee, where the points go back, and if a rebook is cheaper than keeping the ticket.

“What does it cost to cancel my Virgin Atlantic award to New York?”

Capture my credit cards and welcome bonuses

/capture-cards-and-bonuses

Finds the credit cards the user owns and their welcome bonuses from approval and bonus emails, from the user's own signed-in issuer account pages, or from screenshots. Saves cards, bonus status, spend deadlines and annual fees to Award Travel Finder. Never asks for passwords or card numbers.

“Use the Award Travel Finder MCP skill capture-cards-and-bonuses to capture my cards and welcome bonuses.”

Capture data from my airline and hotel accounts

/capture-from-airline-hotel-account

With browser or computer use, reads the balance, elite status, tier progress and upcoming bookings from loyalty accounts where the user is already signed in, then saves them to Award Travel Finder. Never asks for passwords. Read-only on the airline or hotel site.

“Use the Award Travel Finder MCP skill capture-from-airline-hotel-account to sync my accounts.”

Capture spending from my bank or card account

/capture-from-bank-card

With browser or computer use, reads card or bank transactions from an account where the user is already signed in (or downloads the statement), then imports them with import_spending_statement. Read-only. Never moves money or stores credentials.

“Use the Award Travel Finder MCP skill capture-from-bank-card to import my card spending.”

Check my trip before departure

/check-trip-before-departure

A pre-flight briefing - aircraft and seat, lounges, wifi, airport delays and security waits, and a reprice check on the award.

“Check my flight BA15 on Friday before I go.”

Plan a family or group award trip

/family-or-group-trip

Finds award seats for 2+ travellers together and splits the points cost across balances and accounts.

“Find 4 economy award seats from Chicago to Rome next July.”

Find my bookings and points balances

/find-my-bookings-and-balances

Uses the user's own email and browser connectors together. Email finds booking confirmations and the latest balance statements; the signed-in browser fills the gaps and checks the newest values. Saves everything to Award Travel Finder and shows one summary.

“Find all my bookings and points balances.”

Get started

/get-started

Walks a new user through sign-in, a first award search, watching the route, adding balances and a weekly review.

“Help me get started with Award Travel Finder.”

Rebook a hotel when the price drops

/hotel-price-drop-rebook

Tracks a booked hotel stay, cash or points, and rebooks when the price falls below what the user paid.

“Watch my Park Hyatt Tokyo stay in May for a price drop.”

Import bookings from my inbox

/import-bookings-from-inbox

Search the connected Gmail or Outlook inbox for booking confirmations from the last 12 months and upcoming trips, import each one with import_booking, then summarise by trip.

“Import my bookings.”

Maximise a transfer bonus

/maximize-transfer-bonus

Decides if a live transfer bonus is worth using now, what to book with it and how many points to move.

“Is the 30% Amex to Virgin Atlantic bonus worth using?”

Claim missing points and dispute a folio

/missing-points-claim

Audits a hotel folio or stay for missing points, elite benefits and bad charges, then writes the claim.

“My Marriott stay did not post points and I was charged a resort fee on an award night.”

Choose my next credit card

/next-credit-card

Picks the next travel card from the user's spend, current cards, goals and live welcome bonuses.

“Which travel card should I get next? I spend most on dining and flights.”

Plan an award trip

/plan-award-trip

From a route and dates to a bookable award, with the cheapest transfer path, a hold plan and booking steps.

“Plan a business class award trip from London to Tokyo in March.”

Plan a trip with status

/plan-with-status

Picks the flight with the lowest net cost after miles and status progress, says where to credit it, and finds a status run if the gap stays open.

“I fly London to New York in March. Which flight gets me closest to BA Gold for the money?”

Set up alerts

/set-up-alerts

Sets up award-seat monitors, hotel price-drop tracking and recurring standing orders in one pass.

“Alert me when business class opens from LHR to JFK in December.”

“What is the easiest way for me to get oneworld Sapphire?”

Sync my balances

/sync-my-balances

Turns the user's balances into 3-5 concrete award trips they can afford, with live seats and transfer paths.

“Where can my points take me from New York this autumn?”

Knowledge skills

Reference material the assistant loads on demand with get_skill.

  • Lessons learned (search workflow) — Mandatory multi-source search workflow, Southwest specifics, Companion Pass cpp math, source accuracy hierarchy, common failure modes.
  • Flight search strategy — Source priority (live airline award sources, then cash-fare sources, then the cached award index), market selection for international arbitrage, accuracy hierarchy.
  • Award holds per program — Per-program hold rules: AA 24h online, LH 5 days, FB 3 days, CX/Turkish 2 days, Virgin Atlantic 1-2 days, Singapore agent-discretionary, plus the negative space (UA/AS/DL/Aeroplan/BA/ANA/QR/KE all no-hold).
  • Partner award routings — Which programs ticket which airlines (alliance + bilateral + cross-alliance). Cross-references credit-card currencies to booking programs and the reachability workflow.
  • Cabin codes and saver fare classes — IATA cabin codes (F/J/W/Y) plus saver fare class codes (X/I/O) that determine whether partners can ticket a given flight.
  • Award sweet spots catalog — Tiered catalog of legendary, excellent, and good redemptions with current rates, devaluation history, and booking windows by program.
  • Round-the-world & multi-segment awards — oneworld Explorer (Qantas — cheapest F/J RTW), Star Alliance RTW (ANA — cheapest J for couples), Aeroplan $100 stopover, LifeMiles no-surcharge MultiCity, Asia Miles multi-sector. Direction rules, mileage caps, surface sectors, common failure modes.
  • Stopover rules per loyalty program — Per-program stopover rules: Icelandair's free Reykjavík stopover, Flying Blue, Aeroplan, Alaska Atmos, Cathay, JAL, Singapore tiers, plus the negative space (BA, AA, Delta, United post-2025) that offer none.
  • Airline alliance membership — Star Alliance, oneworld, SkyTeam membership by airline and loyalty program, non-alliance carriers, and the key cross-alliance/bilateral booking relationships (e.g. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club books ANA).
  • Points valuations — Live cents-per-point workflow: baseline from get_points_valuation, realised cpp from compare_cash_vs_points, bonus and surcharge adjustments.
  • Transfer bonuses — Check active bonuses with whats_on_sale, apply them to transfer paths, and never transfer before a confirmed seat.
  • Award calendar and release windows — Release windows per programme, month-wide scans, and route monitors for space that is not open yet.
  • Hotel chain and brand recognition — Maps hotel brand names (Westin, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, The Standard, etc.) to chain families, loyalty programs, transfer partners, and points-per-cent value ranges.
